President Obama’s Administration Wants Moms to Return to School
President Obama ran on a platform that contained promises to help mothers return to college. He is keeping that promise by providing funds in his stimulus package for scholarships for moms. If you are a mother who longs to earn a college degree, then you need to get started.
Scholarships for moms is one of the best programs that a mother could apply for. Unlike loans, a scholarship or grant does not have to be repaid and may be awarded for up to $10,000.00. This will really help you fund your education.
Although many lower income single mother households have been able to get grants and scholarships in the past, the amount has not kept up with the rising cost of education. Now, with the increase in these awards, you can see that it becomes much easier to return to school. When you get your funds, you can use them in any number of ways. Perhaps you need a new computer, or books. You may also use the funds to help with your living expenses while in college.
If you think you will have to continue working to make ends meet, then you need to see if you are able to qualify for other private grants and scholarships. Your local college financial office will have details on anything that you should apply for. This extra money could really come in handy.
Once you graduate, you will know, with certainty, that you will be able to make a better life for you and for your family. Do an internet search and find out for yourself. It is never too late to start.
